Multi-Sensory Museum Experiences for BLV Patrons
This study explores the multisensory experiences of blind or low vision (BLV) individuals in museum settings to improve accessibility and engagement.
We interviewed four participants, aged 35 to 62, to understand their challenges and preferences when visiting museums. We analyzed the interviews using sticky notes on FigJam to find common themes related to multisensory experiences, wayfinding, and accessibility frameworks.
Our findings highlight the need for tactile engagement, flexible and responsive audio descriptions, and immersive multisensory elements such as scents and ambient sounds to enhance the museum experience. Our findings suggest integrating these elements to create more inclusive and engaging museum experiences. This research can help museums create more inclusive experiences for BLV individuals.

In a team of three, I lead the project for the Prototyping and Implementation class. This project explored research for new concepts, design charrettes, lo-fi creation through narrative prototyping, mid-fi user testing, and a final hi-fi prototype.

Art Collective
For my class Social Interaction design, I was tasked to create a new social app. I believe one of the best extensions of human existence is their art. It connects, persuades, and reminds. For that reason, I created an app centered around attending creative events and sharing creative pieces.
My process included identifying a target user, which then evolved to a persona and what their key interactions would be on this app. For this project, I specifically focused on the experience of event goers rather than hosts.
This followed an iterative design process from creating a wireframe, then a Mid-Fi, and finally a Hi-Fi. Each step included testing with real subjects that fit the target user. Testing followed a protocol of obtaining verbal consent, pre-test questions, pre-task instructions, tasks, post-task questions, and post-test questions.
At the time, I believed my limits included participant sourcing and less exploration due to confines in a university setting. Looking back, I would like to have improved the robustness of the Hi-Fi design and explore Business Accounts. And of course, more iterations with a more diverse group of participants.
